Docker
Docker packages build agents, game servers and backend services so that they behave the same on a laptop, a build farm and in production.
Containers turn up on the service side of games rather than in the client. Dedicated game servers, matchmaking, account and telemetry services are built as images and deployed to a cluster, where identical environments make scaling and rollback routine instead of risky.
The second use is the pipeline: build agents, asset processing and test runners in containers keep toolchain versions pinned, which is what stops a build from breaking because one machine had a different SDK.
Docker rarely stands alone in an advert. It comes with a cloud platform, an orchestration layer and a CI system, and the job behind it is backend, DevOps or build engineering rather than gameplay work. What an advert is really asking for is the ability to run a service: images that stay small, configuration kept out of the image, logs and metrics that make an incident at peak traffic solvable.
