Mobile Developer
Mobile developers build and optimise games for phones and tablets, where memory, battery and store rules set the limits.
A mobile developer implements gameplay, UI and client features for iOS and Android, and spends a notable part of the time on the constraints that come with those platforms: frame rate on low-end devices, memory ceilings, battery and thermal behaviour, download size, store compliance and backwards compatibility across years of hardware.
Postings ask for C++ or C# in an engine such as Unity or Unreal, native platform knowledge, profiling and optimisation, and often integration work towards backends, SDKs and live-service tooling. Build and release experience is common too, because mobile titles ship updates continuously.
Compared with a gameplay programmer, who is defined by what the code does, a mobile developer is defined by where it runs, and those platform specifics are the reason studios hire for the title separately. Compared with a backend developer, this is the client side: everything that happens on the device in the player's hand.
