React

React is the frontend framework behind the web surfaces a game needs: shops, accounts, companion sites, launcher interfaces and the internal dashboards a team works from.

The work is interface engineering in the browser. Components, state, data fetching and routing make up the daily material, with TypeScript as the normal companion and a styling approach that keeps a growing interface consistent. Most of it talks to an API that someone else maintains.

In games the demanding cases are usually the internal ones. A live-ops dashboard or a configuration tool has to show a lot of data and let someone change it without making a dangerous mistake, which puts more weight on clarity and error handling than on visual polish. A destructive action behind a convenient button is a real risk in a tool that touches a live game.

JavaScript and TypeScript are the languages underneath, and HTML5 covers the browser platform as a whole. React is the specific framework a project has standardised on, and postings that name it usually mean the surrounding ecosystem too.
