Game Producer

Game producers keep a project moving: scope, schedule, dependencies and the daily decisions about what gets cut.

Production is the discipline that turns a plan into a shipped build. A producer breaks the project into milestones, tracks what each discipline needs from the others, spots the dependency that will block art in three weeks, and makes the trade-off visible when something has to give.

On a live game the job continues after launch: event calendars, update cycles, hotfix processes and the coordination between the game team and central functions such as QA, analytics and publishing.

Adverts separate two flavours. A technical producer works closest to engineering, often on build health, tooling and tech debt. A production role on the content side sits with design and art. Neither owns the creative vision, which belongs to the game or creative director; the producer owns whether it arrives on time and in one piece.
