Editor

Editors produce and shape a studio's published content: articles, scripts, trailers and video, with the final say on wording and cut.

Editorial work in games covers everything a studio publishes in its own voice. News posts and feature articles, scripts for trailers and devlogs, subtitles and the final pass on video are all part of it, together with the unglamorous half: fact-checking, keeping terminology consistent and making sure a sentence survives translation. Content creation, scriptwriting and video editing turn up in most postings, often in the same one.

The job is a filter as much as a pen. Material arrives from design, art, marketing and the community, in different registers and at different levels of accuracy, and it leaves as something a reader can follow without context. That includes saying no to a claim the game cannot back up.

A social media manager owns channels and timing. A scriptwriter writes to a brief. An editor owns the text itself and whether it is correct, clear and in the studio's voice.
