Marketing Manager
Plans and runs the campaign for a game: positioning, channels, assets, launch beats and the reporting that decides where the next budget goes.
A marketing manager owns how a title reaches players. The work starts with positioning and a campaign plan, continues through asset briefings, store pages, paid channels and launch beats, and ends in reporting that decides what gets funded next.
The craft sits close to production: posts, trailers and screenshots are made or commissioned here, often with Photoshop on the stills, and the community and influencer side of the house supplies much of the reach. Content creation, social media, community management and influencer relations are the skills that come up in almost every posting.
The difference from a user acquisition manager is the horizon. User acquisition optimises paid installs against a cost target, while a marketing manager answers for brand, campaign and launch as a whole. A PR manager works the press and media relations inside that remit rather than the whole of it.
