CRM Manager
A CRM manager keeps in touch with players who already have the game: segments, lifecycle messages, push notifications and email, measured by what they actually change.
The role works on retention and return rather than acquisition. That means defining segments from behaviour, building the journeys that address each one, and timing messages so they arrive when they are useful instead of whenever a campaign is ready. Onboarding, lapsed-player win-backs and event reminders are the recurring cases.
It is a measured discipline. Every message is a test with a control group, and the honest result is often that a send changed nothing or annoyed people into opting out. Working with the data warehouse and the messaging platform is therefore as much of the job as writing the copy.
A User Acquisition Manager buys new players. A Community Manager speaks to players in public. CRM is the one-to-one channel to people already inside the game.
