Account Manager

Account managers look after the partners a game business runs on: storefronts and platform holders, sponsors, resellers and distribution partners.

The work is commercial. Negotiation, forecasting, promotional planning and reporting make up the week, together with the patience to keep one calendar aligned across partners who each have their own approval process and their own lead times.

Two variants share the title. On the digital sales side the job covers store visibility, pricing, promotions and release calendars with platform holders. On the esports and sponsorship side it covers sponsor deliverables, campaign assets and the proof of delivery a contract requires. Marketing and social media appear in both, because partner campaigns are built with those teams rather than handed to them.

Business development manager is the neighbour that opens new partnerships instead of running existing ones, and brand manager owns the message where the account manager owns the relationship. In a small publishing team one person does all three.
